Role Overview

Seeking an experienced EHS Manager for a major data centre project in Finland. Reporting to the EHS Lead, this role ensures all works are delivered in compliance with safety management systems, Finnish legislation, and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure project compliance with the Safety Management System.
  • Develop and maintain Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
  • Prepare and analyse H&S performance reports and metrics.
  • Keep senior management informed on EHS performance and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Finnish and EU EHS legislation and standards.
  • Implement and maintain Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
  • Oversee method statements, risk assessments, SPA, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Monitor compliance with the Project Execution Plan and safety standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
  • Manage hazard assessments and ensure effective control measures.
  • Ensure safety observations and corrective actions are tracked and closed.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring follow-up actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate EHS risks proactively.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate EHS inductions and training.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of PPE.
  • Lead or support incident investigations and reporting.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ EHS experience on large-scale construction projects (data centre experience desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of Finnish and EU H&S legislation.
  • Proven ability to manage EHS on complex construction sites.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and EHS reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing project demands.

EHS Advisor – Gavle

Position

Join a major data centre project in Gävle, Sweden as an EHS Advisor supporting the client team on site.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor contractor compliance with EHS plans & legislation
  • Review risk assessments, method statements & permits
  • Conduct site audits, inspections & safety reporting
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Promote strong safety standards across all site activities

Requirements

  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (or similar)
  • 3+ years’ experience on large construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations
  • Confident communicator with solid reporting skills
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Data centre experience beneficial.
