Role Overview

The EHS Lead will be responsible for leading and managing all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities for a high-risk data center project in Seinäjoki. The role ensures full compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and international best practices, while fostering a strong safety culture across site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the EHS management system for the project
  • Ensure compliance with Finnish EHS legislation, EU directives, client standards, and company policies
  • Act as the primary EHS point of contact for the client, contractors, and regulatory authorities
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work
  • Perform regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks; track corrective actions to closure
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures
  • Deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and specialist safety training
  • Monitor contractor EHS performance and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, KPIs, and statistics
  • Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture on site
  • Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response planning

Required Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent internationally recognized EHS qualification (mandatory)
  • Additional safety, environmental, or occupational health qualifications are an advantage

Required Experience

  • Proven EHS leadership experience on data center projects (mandatory)
  • Experience working in very high-risk environments, preferably large-scale construction or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of construction EHS risks, including electrical safety, lifting operations, work at height, and confined spaces
  • Experience managing multiple contractors and interfaces
