Role Overview
The EHS Lead will be responsible for leading and managing all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities for a high-risk data center project in Seinäjoki. The role ensures full compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and international best practices, while fostering a strong safety culture across site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the EHS management system for the project
- Ensure compliance with Finnish EHS legislation, EU directives, client standards, and company policies
- Act as the primary EHS point of contact for the client, contractors, and regulatory authorities
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work
- Perform regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks; track corrective actions to closure
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures
- Deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and specialist safety training
- Monitor contractor EHS performance and ensure alignment with project requirements
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, KPIs, and statistics
- Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture on site
- Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response planning
Required Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent internationally recognized EHS qualification (mandatory)
- Additional safety, environmental, or occupational health qualifications are an advantage
Required Experience
- Proven EHS leadership experience on data center projects (mandatory)
- Experience working in very high-risk environments, preferably large-scale construction or mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of construction EHS risks, including electrical safety, lifting operations, work at height, and confined spaces
- Experience managing multiple contractors and interfaces
