Role Overview
The Senior EHS Advisor will support and advise project leadership on all Environment, Health & Safety matters for a high-risk data center project in Ummeljoki. The role focuses on ensuring best-in-class EHS performance, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk management across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise project management and site teams on EHS compliance, standards, and best practices
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the project EHS management system
- Ensure compliance with Finnish EHS legislation, EU directives, client requirements, and company policies
- Review and approve risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and permits to work
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations
- Monitor contractor EHS performance and drive corrective and preventive actions
- Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting
- Deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and specialist safety briefings
- Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, and performance reports
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the site
- Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response planning
Required Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent internationally recognized EHS qualification (mandatory)
- Additional EHS or environmental qualifications are an advantage
Required Experience
- Demonstrated EHS experience on data center projects (mandatory)
- Experience working in very high-risk construction or mission-critical environments
- Strong knowledge of construction and operational safety, including electrical safety, lifting operations, work at height, and confined spaces
- Experience working with multiple contractors and complex project interfaces
